Canadian curling champion Ernie Richardson, whose team dominated the sport in the late 1950s and early 1960s, appears as a contestant on “To Tell the Truth” (January 23rd, 1961) with host Bud Collyer and panelists Tom Poston, Kitty Carlisle, Don Ameche, and Polly Bergen.

Cole Kolodziezak says:

MY great grand father was Sam Richardson aka Garnet Richardson.

retrorex says:

Polly Bergen is funny, classy and pretty–and probably more intelligent that she appears to be on this program.  The episodes of TTTT without her don't really make it, I'm afraid.  Wish she could have stayed on forever like Kitty.

bluebear1985 says:

What a curler. Richardson won four Briers (Canadian championships) and four world championships, the only one to do so. He was inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1968, Curling Hall of Fame in 1973, and was invested in the Order of Canada in 1978.

brithgob says:

Number one is wearing an authentic looking sweater with a Saskatchewan crest and everything… the real Ernie must have loaned it to him to throw off the panel.
