Mauritania to hold crucial vote on constitution

In the West African country of Mauritania dramatic changes to the constitution could get the go ahead on Saturday. A referendum is being held on whether to approve or reject political reforms – and abolish the senate.

Supporters say change is needed and opponents fear the president they call a dictator will stay in power for another five years.
