Connecticut lawmakers have voted to ban devices that enable guns to fire like automatic weapons.

The Senate on Tuesday night approved the bump stock legislation, 26-10. The bill already cleared the House of Representatives. Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy proposed the ban and likely will sign it. He says there’s “no legitimate reason” to own a bump stock.
